Color

I love the part of my job involving color selection.Eye Colour Test/Gay by Daniel Eatock
I just got Contemporary Graphic Design by Taschen which has a terrible cover design and seems to be perfect bound via glue stick but whatevs, its a good reference of designers and was only 15 bucks.

Dreamy

Watched the Twin Peaks series again this past week.
Of course I skipped over episodes 12-16 as they seem slow and less interesting. While special agent Cooper is a total dream boat up until the end, Audrey Horne, seen dancing above is my favorite character. The intro credit are great too!

Desire > Trash

Most mornings I listen to NPR or BBC radio. Increasingly, there is more news about human waste, as in the stuff we produce and then throw out... er... I mean. To live in NY is to endure desire for everything around you: the newest electronic devices, sneakers, beauty, better apartment, athe best nightlife, more, more and more. I digress! I really want this book ABC3D by Marion Batallie for sale Oct 2008

and this chair from ebay:Maybe blogging the desire is enough... but the chair is used and I highly douubt that books will be the reason for continued global warming.... :)

Envirotype

I (heart) Typeworkshop gave an type assignment in honor of Dutch Design Week. The participants were asked to choose a material and create a word by way of folding. Then they were to take this piece and place it into a public environment.Like "crap", my favorite example, I noticed that most of them reminded me of Sagmeister's project "things I have learned in my life so far". WHICH has been at the Deitch Projects gallery and today is the last day.
Then I noticed he had updated his work since I'd seen it last. The piece above is my all time favorite typographical treatment ever. Its almost if to say, "Pit stains are in". FURTHERMORE, speaking of in type and Sagmeister's "things I've learned...", Marian Bantjes, my idol, has been very busy.Sugar piece contributed to "things that I have learned in life so far".
