Covered in Girdles & Bras
I adore the photos of Karen & Avril's home in the latest Selby post. It's like a series surreal vignettes where Sweet Vally High girls go post punk. But I'm especially partial to the girdle bedspread, bra shams and chandelier made of hosiery.

Christmas Gift to Me
I think I've mentioned this before, I sincerely feel that I have the best friends a person could ever want or need. And there are numerous reasons for my feeling this way but that is another post. To name the most recent act of selfless kindness, my ever so talented, public artist and photographer, friend Jordan just spent 8 hours tediously shooting my portfolio.
We cleared out my living room and shot everything there. I'll follow up with the results shortly.
Thank you, Jordan.

Radical Spirits
Personal photos from the rapturing exhibit by James Case-Leal in a church in Greenpoint.Spires jutted from the pews at all angles.
There was animated videos projected onto the ceiling of people floating into the sky from an urban landscape.
The artist was hidden away upstairs making scrolls with current periodicals. This process was recorded and broadcast on a public station playing on the tv at the back of the church.

I like this montage, specifically the glimpses you get of his gonzo style in 3-D format.

Dune Week
I watch it. I won't lie—I wasn't always sure what was going on in the story line. There was some domineering matriarchal parts, sometimes sexual, of which I couldn't make sense. However, I accepted these along with a giant brain with a vahayhay mouth and a pug being carried off to battle with ease due to outrageous visual presentation.

Armory
: the International Exhibition of Modern Art
Reporting a week late but from my estimate there was not a lot to report on. Regardless, I enjoy going to see what people have made. Sister Corita Kent (November 20, 1918 – September 18, 1986), the progressive silkscreen poster making nun from L.A. had work there and that was nice to see. Below are just some pieces of hers that I grabbed of the web.

And then there were these:

Work currently on display at Ogilvy courtesy of Carmichael GalleryI got a call while I was at the office around 6 this Friday and some friends said they were in my building to see some artwork. I am so conditioned to tuned out all office goings-ons (and also just take for granted all the amazing artwork that we are exposed to) that I didn't even realize that there was some new stuff up on the other floors. Thanks to Public Ad Campaign, Liz & Dri.
