Aves

This morning on my way to work I noticed a new bird. It wasn't a sparrow and it was definitely no pigeon, but somewhere in between the two sizes. The feathers were dark, blueish, with the occasional iridescent streak. I think it may be Purple Martin which is a type of swallow. The Prongne subis subis doesn't seem to be a fan of a lot of foliage or organic clutter and relies on man-made environments for shelter (BK Holler!). While the little guy abstains from dining on mosquitoes (we all have preferences) he loves to eat all the other bugs. Hey Marty, hope you like roaches....

Has anyone seen this bird? Please let me know if you are better informed.

Huh? What's that you say? Oooooh! You want to know more about Spring Migration in New York? Me too!
